Empty Bowls 2013
Last weekend I volunteered my time to participate in something I feel strongly about. For over ten years I have been participating in Empty Bowls an organization that helps feed the hungry. Artists create handmade ceramic bowls and then an event is held where you receive a bowl created by a local artist and soup and bread in exchange for a cash donation. Statistics have shown that 1 out of 8 Americans suffer with insecurity of food in their life. This organization has helped feed many people across the world. This past Saturday at City of Tempe Art Center Connie organized ceramic artist's to create some bowls. Here we are in action. To learn more about this event check out the website Empty Bowls

Go Sarah! I know every year the Tempe Art Center donates a lot of time & money to this cause and I'm sure our local food banks and people in need appreciate it :)
